I can set what I want to see in the sidebar. I can set what I want to see when I open up a new Finder window, remember how it keeps going to recent, well I can go and change that. The Finder, what I can do is I can set what items I want to see on the desktop. In my example here, I’m looking at the Finder preferences. In most cases, what you’re going to get is a new window that opens up, and it’s going to be that app’s preferences. Using a keyboard shortcut to access preferences: What I will usually use is the keyboard shortcut command, comma. To do that, what we do is we go up under the application name, in this case, the Finder in the menu bar, and then you’re going to see preferences. As an example, let’s take a look at the Finder’s preferences.
